In 2025, the Mantvydas Juozapavi\u010dius Named Scholarship<\/strong> was established for VU students and researchers who are also alumni of Vilnius Lyceum. The aim of the scholarship is to encourage academic excellence and the pursuit of a research career<\/strong>. It is a one-time scholarship of up to \u20ac7,500<\/strong>, which may be used to cover expenses related to studies and research, including internships, research visits, materials, literature, databases, prototypes, and similar costs.<\/p>\n

The scholarship is funded from the investment returns and targeted donations of the Mantvydas Juozapavi\u010dius (1976\u20132023) Endowment Sub-Fund<\/strong><\/a>, established in 2024. The subfund was created at the VU Foundation from the inheritance of their son, who passed away in 2023, by Mantvydas\u2019s parents, philanthropists Irena and Algirdas Juozapavi\u010dius.<\/p>\n

Mantvydas Juozapavi\u010dius (1976\u20132023)<\/em><\/p>\n

Mantvydas Juozapavi\u010dius (1976\u20132023)<\/strong> was an active Lithuanian public figure with a broad education and experience in information management and genealogy. He studied at Vilnius Lyceum, the VU Institute of International Relations and Political Science (IIRPS), and the VU Faculty of Communication, and completed various courses at Rice University, the University of Illinois, and the University of Michigan in the United States. He worked as an assistant in the Lithuanian Parliament, an election observer in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and was a freelance specialist providing various services in information management and data analysis.<\/p>\n
