With this support, Juozas Sidas cherishes the memory of his uncle, a famous interwar Lithuanian political figure, diplomat <strong>Vaclovas Sidzikauskas (1893\u20131973)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The support of Juozas Sidas allows to strengthen the <strong>areas where resources are most lacking:<\/strong> research infrastructure and the preparation of international high-level publications on the topic of Lithuanian history.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2017, the donation was allocated for three areas: <strong>renewal of the infrastructure of the Faculty of History<\/strong>, dissemination of scientific results and promotion of researchers. Most of the funds were used to upgrade the computer classroom for faculty members and students. This technology helps to ensure the connection between the studies and research carried out at the Faculty of History with the applied fields by using the achievements and tools of physical and technological sciences in history, archeology, heritage studies (GIS, ESRI, ArcGIS software &#8211; maps, databases, archeological drawing and sketching, etc.).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2017, part of the support allowed a <strong>greater dissemination of research and internationalization of the researchers<\/strong> of the Faculty of History by facilitating the publication of 11 academic articles on \u00a0Lithuanian history at international publications. Also the <strong>Vaclovas Sidzikauskas Award<\/strong> for Historical Research was announced. The award is granted each year during the celebration of the end of the academic year at St. John&#8217;s Church.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"70\" data-end=\"108\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Vaclovas Sidzikauskas Award Laureates:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"110\" data-end=\"1420\">\n<li data-start=\"110\" data-end=\"442\">\n<p data-start=\"112\" data-end=\"442\"><strong data-start=\"112\" data-end=\"156\">Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marija Dr\u0117mait\u0117 (2017).<\/strong> For research on interwar and Soviet-era Lithuanian architecture (monographs: <em data-start=\"234\" data-end=\"316\">Progreso meteoras: modernizacija ir pramon\u0117s architekt\u016bra Lietuvoje 1918\u20131940 m.<\/em>, Vilnius: Lapas, 2016, and <em data-start=\"344\" data-end=\"408\">Baltic Modernism.
