Janina Muraškienė Donates €100,000 to Empower Talented Scientists to Change the World

Janina Muraškienė, an alumna of the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University (VU) and a philanthropist, has donated €100,000 to the university’s unrestricted endowment fund. The returns from the fund’s investments are used to attract talented scientists with strong international experience to Lithuania.

“During my university years, I gained critical thinking, strong values, and confidence in science. I support the VU Foundation so that more talented scientists can research, create, and change the world,” says benefactor Janina Muraškienė.

The value of VU’s endowment fund has grown to €9.93 million, with investment returns totaling €1.35 million since January 2019. Nearly €2 million from investment returns and targeted donations has already been allocated to fund research, scholarships, projects, and other initiatives.
