VU Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences Launches Endowment Sub-Fund

The Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences at Vilnius University (VU) is launching its Endowment Sub-Fund and invites the public, partners, friends of the Faculty, and alumni to contribute to the development of young talents and scientists.

“The launch of the Endowment Sub-Fund marks a significant milestone for our Faculty, opening new opportunities for growth and development. This initiative will provide a solid foundation for long-term investments, ensuring financial stability and enabling the implementation of key projects,” says Prof. Habil. Dr. Aivaras Kareiva, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences.

The Endowment Sub-Fund is a sustainable support model where received contributions are not spent directly but strategically invested in various asset classes. The returns generated from these investments will be allocated to meet the Faculty’s needs, ensuring long-term financial stability.

The Faculty aims to strengthen the scientific community by allocating the Sub-Fund’s investment returns to scholarships for top-performing students, the establishment of postdoctoral fellowships, and, in the future, the improvement of research infrastructure.

The Faculty hopes this Sub-Fund will inspire new ideas, foster collaboration, and encourage continuous improvement within the academic community. It remains open to cooperation with all stakeholders who wish to contribute to this meaningful initiative.
