The Žalgiris Clinic of the Vilnius University Hospital, which every year provides care for around 3.5 thousand inpatients and 71 thousand outpatiens, faced increasing pressure during the COVID-19 health crisis due to the failure of its two medical instrument sterilization devices, which are vital for disinfecting the devices used in the treatment process.

“At night, we carry sterile instruments from the main operating sterilizer to the other side of the hospital to ensure proper sterilization of the instruments in both clinic buildings,” said the head of the clinics, prof. Alina Pūrienė. Vilnius University Foundation, with the additional support from the company Žabolis ir partneriai, ordered and donated a new sterilizer worth 25 000 EUR.
