Vilnius University annually provides 5 scholarships for studies in English or Russian to talented Master’s students from outside the European Union or European Economic Area (EU/EEA). Each year, over 100 candidates apply via Tuition Fee Waiver program. VU Foundation supports this initiative and annually co-finances the “Tuition Fee Waiver” program from the return on endowment capital investments and targeted donations.

Year 2020: €18.6K

We allocated an additional €18.6K to the “Tuition Fee Waiver” program for the 2020–2022 academic years (€12.1K from investment returns; €6.5K from targeted donations). This extra funding from the VU Foundation enabled eight talented master’s students from Turkey, Albania, Nigeria, India, Kosovo, and South Korea to study in various VU programs: English Philology (Faculty of Philology), Finance and Banking (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration), Eastern European and Russian Studies (Institute of International Relations and Political Science), International Business Management (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration), International and European Law (Faculty of Law), Molecular Biotechnology (Life Sciences Center), and Digital Marketing (Business School).

Year 2021: €13K

We allocated an additional €13K to the “Tuition Fee Waiver” program for the 2021–2023 academic years. This extra funding from the VU Foundation enabled seven talented master’s students from Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Egypt to pursue studies in various VU programs: English Philology (Faculty of Philology), Software Systems (Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics), International Communication (Faculty of Communication), International Business Management (Kaunas Faculty), International and European Law (Faculty of Law), Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences), and International Project Management (Business School).

Year 2022: €8,5K

We allocated an additional €8.5K to the “Tuition Fee Waiver” program for the 2022–2024 academic years. This extra funding from the VU Foundation enabled six talented master’s students from New Zealand, Georgia, Albania, and Pakistan to pursue studies in various VU programs: English Language Studies (Faculty of Philology), Mathematics (Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics), International and European Law (Faculty of Law), Eastern European and Russian Studies (IIRPS), Molecular Biology (Life Sciences Center), and Marketing and Integrated Communication (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration).

Year 2023: €8,5K

This extra funding from the VU Foundation enabled six talented master’s students from Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Jordan, and Georgia to pursue studies in various VU programs: Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences), Economic Analytics (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration), Software Systems (Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics), International and European Law (Faculty of Law), Eastern European and Russian Studies (IIRPS), and International Project Management (Business School).

Year 2024: €10K

We allocated an additional €10K to the “Tuition Fee Waiver” program for the 2023–2025 academic years. This extra funding from the VU Foundation enabled six talented master’s students from Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Pakistan to pursue studies in various VU programs: Molecular Biotechnology, Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics, International Communication, Marketing and Integrated Communication, Geology, and Systems Biology.

Year 2025: €10K

We allocated an additional €10K to the “Tuition Fee Waiver” program for the 2023–2025 academic years. This extra funding from the VU Foundation enabled six talented master’s students from Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Indonesia to pursue studies in various VU programs: Strategic Economics, Eastern European and Russian Studies, English Philology, International Project Management, Digital Marketing, and Marketing and Integrated Communication.
