Arvydas Andrijauskas, Lina & Danas Tvarijonavičius Awarded the Honourable Name of Vilnius University Patron
On 1 July, at the end of the academic year ceremony Finis Anni Academici, Arvydas Andrijauskas and the family of Lina and Danas Tvarijonavičius were awarded the honourable names of Vilnius University Patrons.
"The President of the Senate mentioned the word freedom. And I remembered an episode when during a lecture, a course mate whispered some nonsense. The thing that stuck with me the most was the lecturer's reaction to it. He calmly said, "Judging by what you said, Einstein was wrong. Try to prove it, colleague". For the freedom that has always existed! For encouraging us to think, to question and to strive!", said Arvydas Andrijauskas, philanthropist, major shareholder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the book publishing and trading group Alma Littera, as he received the statue.

Danas Tvarijonavičius, who spoke on behalf of the family, emphasised that the students now entering life have had a difficult year and challenges. "The world has not seen a pandemic like this for over 100 years, nor has Europe seen a war like this for over 80 years. It is only in the face of these events that we realise the fragility of our existence and the uncertainty of our future. A new generation will face new challenges and new tasks. For this, the knowledge you take with you is crucial," said Danas Tvarijonavičius, philanthropist, Chairman of the Board and shareholder of Roquette Amilina.
