“At Arimex, we aim to create positive change in society by promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. For many years, we have been building communities, educating, and annually contributing to the success of hundreds of healthy lifestyle initiatives. Today, we take pride in the fact that our efforts will reach the Vilnius University community. We firmly believe that investing in the well-being of the university community will nurture a culture where energy, enthusiasm, new strength, and positivity come together, inspiring university talents to achieve even higher academic accomplishments that elevate our country,” says Arimex founder and director Arnas Jurskis.

Strengthening wellness initiatives at the University aims to foster a love of sport in at least half a dozen community members each year, who will consistently and purposefully promote an active lifestyle. The support will provide greater opportunities for motivation, training and participation in sport events.

The flagbearer of mobility and well-being at the University is the VU Health and Sport Center. According to historical sources, as far back as the 16th century during the times of the Jesuit Academy, activities such as hiking, archery, and later, fencing, horseback riding, and ballroom dancing were integral parts of a healthy lifestyle. University teams participate in Lithuanian higher education championships, SELL Student Games, and other national and international competitions.

Every academic year, Vilnius University organizes The Rector’s Cup inter-faculty competitions, where teams from all university faculties enthusiastically compete. Students participate in track and field, cross-country, swimming, arm wrestling, aerobics, women’s and men’s basketball, football, weightlifting, table tennis, volleyball, and orienteering competitions.

University students train in athletics, women’s and men’s basketball, swimming, weightlifting, aerobic gymnastics, travelling sports, orienteering, table tennis, judo, sambo, football and volleyball.

Vilnius residents and guests are warmly welcomed at the University’s sports facilities located at Saulėtekio av. 2, Saulėtekio av. 26 and M. K. Čiurlionio st. 21, where you can train individually (in the gym, jogging in the stadium with a team, playing football, basketball, ping-pong, volleyball, and so on) or in the group classes offered.
